Seasonal Fixations
Shearling, homemade chai, bathing & more.
Shearling has been on my mind nonstop lately. Not that I own a ton of it, but every time I see a cozy coat or a pair of mittens, slippers, and of course Uggs, it scratches my brain. There’s something about the texture and warmth that just feels like winter in one piece.
I’ve also been prepping a homemade chai concentrate each week (recipe below). Add a little steamed nut milk and maple syrup — it’s perfect for mornings when you feel like something spicy and warming.
Winter is basically an invitation to bathe like a Victorian and I’ve been leaning in hard. I look forward to evening soaks after a chilly walk with epsom salts, chamomile bath oil and an icy jug of water. When I want a little extra, I’ve been doing a quick winter facial courtesy of Tammy Fender. Such a hydrating and glowy combo!

After a long break, I’m back into reading. My friend Mar got me started again with My Name Is Lucy Barton. It’s short, easy to get into, and unexpectedly engrossing. Any recommendations on what I should dive into next?
I was gifted a Lola blanket at the start of winter, and honestly, there is nothing better. I curl up with it for morning meditations, while working from home, and in the evenings just to stay warm. It’s incredibly insulating, heavyweight, endlessly soft, and impossible to put down. Purchase at your own risk!
