To Begin Again
Today is going to be a great day.
I heard Dr. Amen share that every morning he turns to his wife and says aloud, “Today is going to be a great day.” I started saying it in our home too, and it’s amazing how it shifts the energy. You set the tone before anyone or anything else can.
January has always felt refreshing to me. Its the big reset for many. A chance to begin again and lean into the rituals that make life feel good, while gently refining the ones that could use more discipline. There’s a particular joy in trying something new when the world feels like a clean slate… maybe even a dance class?
The new year also brings more time at home and more attention to the small details that often get edited out the busier the year gets. With no travel on the calendar for a few weeks, I’m organizing the corners I’ve ignored and letting winter give me permission to cozy in.
And with that, I’ve been keeping a short list of what’s elevating my every day in early 2026:
1. Waking up before sunrise
Trust me. Even just 20 minutes before your typical alarm feels like a lifetime of more time to yourself, to energize and set the tone for the day.

2. Camel
My unofficial color of the season. I’m leaning into complimentary colors this year (thats earthy tones for me)!

3. A good sweat
I got back into Bikram 26+2 over Christmas, and I truly didn’t realize how much my body was craving it. I re-upped my membership as soon as I got back to the city, and sweating it out even just once or twice a week has been transformative. The membership at Moon Rabbit Acupuncture also includes access to their IR sauna after sessions, which leaves me walking out feeling like an entirely new human.
4. The Julius Roberts Cookbook
If I haven’t already told you in person, I am obsessed with Julius Roberts and everything he creates. My best friend got me his cookbook for Christmas, and I’ve already worked my way through almost every recipe in the winter section. Beyond the food, I love his story. It makes me fantasize about the day I can buy a plot of land in the UK and start my own little hobby farm. Cooking from it feels like a small escape, a way to bring a little farmstead magic into the city.
5. Hydration as ritual
I’m a believer that mornings are meant to gently nourish the digestive system and build energy for the day ahead, and sipping warm bone broth is mineral-rich, restorative comfort. I genuinely think bone broth has changed my skin in the best way. I’ve been pairing it with a lemon-ginger water (made with the ginger ice cube recipe from Ella Henry), plus a few drops of a milk thistle tincture.
Here’s to easing into the year with warmth and getting to begin again! x

Love so much
